Description
Flygt 2201 pump mechanical seals are precision-engineered sealing components designed to provide reliable shaft sealing and prevent water or pumped liquid from entering the electric motor housing. Specifically developed for Flygt 2201 submersible dewatering pumps, the double mechanical seal arrangement provides two levels of protection, ensuring safe and efficient pump operation in demanding industrial, construction, mining and wastewater applications.
The sealing system consists of an inner and outer mechanical seal, generally manufactured using high-performance tungsten carbide and carbon or tungsten carbide combinations, depending on the pump model and specification. These durable materials provide excellent resistance to abrasion, wear, friction and demanding operating conditions. The oil-filled seal chamber lubricates and cools the sealing faces while providing an additional protective barrier between the pumped liquid and electric motor.
The primary uses of Flygt 2201 mechanical seals include preventing water leakage, protecting motor bearings and electrical components, maintaining internal pump pressure and extending equipment service life. They are particularly suitable for applications involving dirty water, sand, clay, sediment and abrasive particles.
Regular inspection and timely replacement of worn or damaged mechanical seals help prevent motor contamination, unexpected breakdowns, costly repairs and operational downtime. Always verify the pump model, shaft size and seal material before replacement to ensure correct compatibility and relia
